Mumbai-based entertainment lawyer and entrepreneur Priyanka Khimani, widely regarded as a go-to expert in the Indian entertainment and tech landscape, is the only Indian to make it to Billboard’s Women in Music 2023 list.

Khimani founded Khimani & Associates, a renowned law practice with a clientele full of A-list celebrities, and is well known for her extensive knowledge of music rights. She serves as a valued counsellor to a number of notable figures in the entertainment industry, including the late Lata Mangeshkar, AP Dhillon, Divine, Prateek Kuhad, Shankar Mahadevan, Rajakumari, Tesher, Badshah, King, Arijit Singh, Jaani, and Tesher.

On her achievement, Khimani said, "It's truly an honour to feature alongside some of the most talented, admirable names in the business. To all the incredible artists I've had the pleasure of working with - Thank you for the trust and confidence you've shown over the years."

Additionally, she has introduced the "Fairplay" digital licencing platform, a venture into the mostly uncharted territory of end-to-end online music licencing. The legendary organisations Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle have made inroads into the NFT environment, and Khimani is a consultant on benchmark transactions for the entire NFT ecosystem.

Leading music business executives are featured on the Women In Music list recently published by the internationally famous platform Billboard. The list acknowledges accomplished women from all facets of the music business and features some of the most well-known figures in the US and around the world.
