Sundar Pichai, arrived in India on December 19 for the Google for India 2022 event, after which he met Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and numerous other ministers, entrepreneurs and celebrities.
"It’s always special to come back to India, and this trip is especially meaningful as it’s my first visit back since the pandemic. As we come out of it, there’s a sense of optimism about the country’s future and the role technology can play to improve lives," the CEO of Google and Alphabet wrote in his blog.
In his meeting with the Prime Minister, Pichai mainly discussed innovation and technology. The two spoke deliberated over ways and means to promote startups and small businesses, increase investment in cybersecurity, provision of education and skill training and use of AI in areas like agriculture and healthcare as well as the Indian government's Digital India vision.
