Like every year, this year Ganesh Chaturthi festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm for 11 days in the Sri Siddhivinayak Temple, Toms river New Jersey, USA. The worship of Lord Ganesha started from the morning of 31st August. Every day about 150 devotees participated in the Puja Archana Havan.
The Karma Sevaks of the temple together organized Mahaprasad in the temple itself. On 9 September, the festival culminated with Ganesh Visarjan. Around 450 devotees took a walk from the temple to the river and immersed the idols.
On this occasion, Jalosh Dhol Tasha was also performed along with the procession. It is believed that on the occasion of immersion, all the difficulties and obstacles of our life are removed. Ganesh Chaturthi and Visarjan signify our cycle of birth and death. All the devotees hope and wait for the coming of Lord Ganesha again next year. Puja Havan was performed by Pandit Dr Ganesh Prasad Ojha, said the Chairman of the temple, Dr. Avinash Gupta of Ranchi, Jharkhand. He thanked all the devotees, servants, sponsors.
