Pennsylvania State Senators Greg Rothman (R-34) and Nikil Saval (D-1) introduced a legislation to institute Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, as an official holiday in the state.
According to Indian American IMPACT, the commonwealth of Pennsylvania is home to nearly 600,000 Asian Americans, of which Indian Americans make up the majority of the population.
