"Pathaan," starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has earned Rs.1028 crores (approximately US$ 125 million) globally since its January premiere, making it the all-time top Hindi movie in India, according to Yash Raj Productions (YRF), the film's producer.
“The total worldwide gross is an incredible US$ 125 million (India gross : 641.50 crore, overseas : 386.50 crore)” YRF announced in a press note.
The film, which marks Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's return to the big screen after a four-year sabbatical from leading roles, was released on January 25 to great acclaim and record advance booking.
"It feels incredible that 'Pathaan' is now the number one Hindi film in India today! The love and appreciation that has been showered on 'Pathaan' by audiences is historic and it shows in the box office result. As a director, I'm proud that I made a film that has entertained people globally," Siddharth Anand said in a statement.
The new accomplishment occurs just days after "Pathaan" surpassed all previous Hindi films in terms of global box office receipts during its original theatrical run.
