New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's Bollywood knowledge was recently put to test and the results seemed not too flattering for filmmaker Mira Nair's son. However, even though he failed to ace the test, his spot-on impression of the iconic Shah Rukh Khan pose garnered him a few brownie points.
Fielding questions on 'Mehdi Unfiltered', Mamdani started strong in the Bollywood song-guessing game, he quickly identified 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' from Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala-starrer 'Dil Se' but failed to name other classics like 'It's the Time to Disco' from 'Kal Ho Naa Ho and 'Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna' from 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.
Lets face it, we’ve all been wondering since we heard ‘Dhoom Machale’ blaring from the speakers at @ZohranKMamdani's victory celebration, if the Mayor-elect is a Bollywood music lover, so we put him through the ringer in this quiz.

The DDLJ song opened up drama with Mamdani unable to guess the song but nailing the legendary King Khan pose, spreading both arms. Mamdani said that he could feel Shah Rukh Khan moving in the song, coming to the top of the steps and hitting his signature step.
Mamdani accurately associated the song with the movie DDLJ but failed to name the song. Hasan chided Mamdani and humorously called him out for not knowing the song and merely biding his time.
Mamdani has been unapologetic about his love for Bollywood and had effortlessly blended Bollywood flair with his campaign, ending his victory speech with 'Dhoom Machale' from the 2004 film 'Dhoom' playing in the background.
