Indian-origin Nikki Haley’s son, Nalin Haley, called for a complete ban on H-1B visas and a halt to both legal and illegal immigration to the United States.
During an appearance on Fox News’ Primetime with guest host Rachel Campos-Duffy, the 24-year-old said that American citizens, not foreign workers, should be prioritized in the job market.

He argued that companies hiring foreign employees over Americans should face penalties and claimed that the H-1B visa system has displaced U.S. graduates from employment opportunities.
Haley, the son of the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said that his generation is facing severe economic challenges.

* The future of GenZ is Nationalist
* Both illegal and legal immigration must stop

He pointed out that many of his friends who graduated from top universities remain unemployed more than a year after finishing college, while others are working in temporary or low-skill jobs despite holding advanced degrees.
Calling the situation “not normalcy,” he said the American Dream was becoming increasingly unattainable amid rising student debt and housing costs.
When asked about criticism that his views were surprising given his Indian heritage, Haley replied, “They shouldn't be because I have seen how it has affected my friends and those around me. At the end of the day, my loyalty is to America.”
He added that immigrants must assimilate into American society, blaming former president Barack Obama’s administration for encouraging a mindset that allowed immigrants to live in the U.S. without adopting American values.
Haley said the country “needs to act like America again” and urged the government to focus on “labor, affordability, and safety” for young citizens—a message he echoed in a social media post after the interview, where he described Gen Z as “nationalist.”
Haley’s remarks have drawn widespread attention for their hardline position on immigration, particularly given his Indian background. The H-1B visa program, which allows U.S. employers to hire highly skilled foreign workers—many from India—has long been a cornerstone of America’s tech and innovation sectors.
His comments also contrast with his mother Nikki Haley’s stance, who has previously supported merit-based legal immigration as part of the American fabric.
Nalin Haley’s remarks come amid renewed political debate over visa policies and youth employment in a strained U.S. economy.
