Indian expat and co-founder of Red Blue Blur Ideas (RBBi), Devesh Mistry, has died in Dubai.
Mistry co-founded RBBi, a specialized integrated digital agency, with Amol Kadam in 2011 and was fondly referred to as “Superman” across the company. The agency’s name was a nod to Superman’s iconic red–blue blur imagery when flying at super-speed.
Mistry was a well-known figure in the Middle East’s digital design community and a mentor to many university students. He played a prominent role in shaping the region’s digital experience industry with his focus on user-friendly design principles.
RBBi announced the news of his death in a LinkedIn post on Dec. 7, writing,
“Today, we share news that is deeply painful for all of us at RBBi. Our Co-Founder, Devesh Mistry, passed away. Devesh was a driving force behind RBBi from its earliest days. To many of us, he was our own Superman. He played a defining role in shaping the company, our culture, our thinking, and the way we worked with clients and with each other.”
“This is a moment of grief and reflection for our entire team. We are taking the time and space to support one another through this loss. We invite our community to join us in extending heartfelt condolences to Devesh’s family and loved ones, and in holding strength and compassion for everyone across RBBi. RBBi continues forward guided by the principles Devesh and the entire team stood for.”
Mistry’s cause of death was not disclosed.
RBBi has announced a gathering on Dec. 11 at Level 6, One Business Centre, ONE JLT, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai, open to current and former company members, clients and friends, to remember and honor Mistry.
