India, U.S. hold foreign office consultations in Delhi

The officials assessed regional and global developments, reiterating their shared support for a free and open Indo-Pacific amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.

India and the United States held Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi on Dec. 9, conducting a broad review of their Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

The meeting, co-chaired by the Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and U.S. Under Secretary of State Allison Hooker, focused on strengthening collaboration across priority sectors.

Both sides examined key bilateral issues, including trade, investment, defense cooperation, the TRUST initiative, energy ties such as civil nuclear engagement, technology, critical minerals, and supply chain resilience.

Officials also assessed regional and global developments, reiterating their shared support for a free and open Indo-Pacific amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.

The two countries noted progress across existing dialogue channels and agreed to accelerate implementation of the “Catalyzing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce and Technology (COMPACT) for the 21st Century” framework to deepen cooperation across core areas of the partnership.
