Sanjay Mishra’s ‘Giddh’ has emerged victorious at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, 2023, and as a result has qualified to compete at the Oscars, making it a strong contender in the short film category. It won the Live Action Competition Asia International Best Short award category, also known as the Governor of Tokyo award.
A thought-provoking social commentary, Giddh showcases the journey of its protagonist who resorts to dubious means to earn a living and sustenance. However, as the story unfolds, the weight of guilt begins to consume him, leading to a series of dilemmas that test his values and principles.
