The Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party-USA (OFBJP-USA) has strongly criticized a protest by members of the Youth Congress at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, calling the demonstration inappropriate and damaging to India’s image.
In a statement issued by Adapa Prasad and Vasudev Patel, the organization described the demonstration, in which individuals reportedly protested shirtless, as a “heinous and despicable act…bringing disrepute to India.”

OFBJP-USA said the protest detracted from India’s achievements and questioned the intent behind the demonstration. “How much can Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi stoop low in belittling India’s achievements,” the leaders said.
The organization further alleged that the Congress party’s actions over the years have been aimed at “destabilizing and defaming India,” warning the citizens to beware "of the Congress Party agenda of dividing India on caste and religious lines.”
The controversy erupted after a group of Youth Congress leaders entered the Summit venue at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam, concealing T-shirts with graffiti under outerwear. They removed their shirts, raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government over alleged "unemployment, inflation, and the reported India-US trade deal."

The Indian National Congress defended the demonstration, claiming that “the Indian Constitution grants Indian citizens the right to protest.”
