Chhaya CDC hosts housing fair in Richmond HIll
Housing agencies, banks, and housing industry experts joined Chhaya staff at the event

Earlier this week, Chhaya Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit that addresses the housing and economic needs for low-income South Asian and Indo-Caribbean New Yorkers hosted its first ever housing fair in Richmond Hill.
Previously, Chhaya's annual housing fair was only held in Jackson Heights, and this expansion into Southeast Queens demonstrates the organization’s commitment to reaching out to and assisting South Asian and Indo-Caribbean residents across New York City, a release stated.

Housing agencies, banks, and housing industry experts joined Chhaya staff at the event held at Richmond Hill High School to help first-time homebuyers, current homeowners, and tenants understand the intricacies of housing stability and financial planning.
“Amidst New York City's affordable housing crisis and rising rents, Chhaya continues to reach even more community members who have been historically underserved, providing them with the help and information necessary for achieving stable housing,” the release mentioned.
