Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on July 19 urged the Indian diaspora to partner in the state’s development, highlighting a series of policy reforms aimed at attracting global investment.

Pro-investment Efforts

Yadav announced that the state government is offering 25 acres of land for just $0.01 (INR 1) to institutions establishing medical colleges, with the aim of increasing the number of colleges from 37 to 50 over the next two years.

To promote tourism, hotel projects worth up to $12 million will be eligible for subsidies of up to $3.6 million, part of a broader push to build world-class hospitality infrastructure.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts to digitize administrative processes, citing a recent case of online land allotment to a London-based entrepreneur as an example of Madhya Pradesh’s investor-friendly approach.

Diaspora connect

Describing the emotional bond with the diaspora, Yadav said, “Indians living abroad are not just citizens but custodians of Indian culture. Wherever they go, they uphold traditions and festivals with dignity. This interaction is not merely a dialogue but a heartfelt connection.”

“Indians blend into society like sugar in milk. Under PM Modi, the reputation of overseas Indians has soared,” he added.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister called on the diaspora to be active participants in the state’s development. “The government doesn’t just listen—it acts on every suggestion. Madhya Pradesh is the heart of India, where every effort and connection is truly welcomed,” he said.
