Zest Outdoor Media, the world's and India’s first green out-of-home asset management company, has set a Guinness World Record for the most comprehensive installation of solar panels on a single advertising billboard. Mustafa Shabbir Akolawala founder of Zest Enterprise, Mumbai, received the award on April 19, 2023.

The record-setting billboard was set by combining three hoardings that were each 40 feet by 20 feet into one that was 60 feet by 40 feet and had 84 solar panels on its back that produced 60,000 units of renewable energy per year. Over the next five years, Zest Outdoor Media will supply the railways with more than 300,000 units of solar energy.

Mustafa started his own outdoor asset management company, nine years ago with a desire to benefit society through innovation. He was inspired to conceptualise the idea of mounting solar panels on billboards by fusing outdoor and green energy renewal, the Guinness world records statement said.

Zest Outdoor designs, creates, and deploys solar-powered outdoor advertising assets including solar billboards. The company’s record-setting billboard has  also earned it a spot in Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.
