This month, Utah and Mississippi became the 15th and 16th states in the United States to include Sikhi (Sikhism) in their state social studies curriculum. As a result, public school students can now study the Sikh religion alongside other major world religions.
The announcements were made possible through Sikh Coalition's collaboration with sangat members, gurdwaras, associated groups and state education officials in both states.
