Maersk opens warehouse run entirely by women in India

The 100,000 sq. ft. facility employs a team of 84 women who will handle all the activities of the warehouse from security to operating the machinery.

In a first for the company and India, a warehouse run entirely by women was inaugurated by Maersk, an integrated logistics company, in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, North India.

With an aim to improve gender diversity, Maersk hired, trained, and created jobs for 84 women who needed employment, but did not have the right opportunities to run its newly inaugurated warehouse, that will serve as the company’s Container Freight Station (CFS).
