King Charles inaugurates UK's new gurdwara

In the gurudwara, King Charles sat among the locals on the floor while wearing a handkerchief over his head.

During his first visit to Luton in Bedfordshire, eastern England, Britain's King Charles III formally inaugurated the new Guru Nanak Gurdwara,on December 6, 2022. The 74-year-old King also visited the gurdwara's kitchen, where hot vegetarian meals "langar" are frequently prepared for the devotees and spoke with the volunteers.

He and other local leaders witnessed the "kirtan" (devotional song) and "hukamnama"(hymn recitation) from the Guru Granth Sahib at the gurdwara's Diwaan Hall. The royal was informed about the activities that were coordinated by community members to come up with a temporary vaccine clinic during the COVID outbreak.
