Khurrana to join Indian team for special Berlin Olympics

Ayushmann Khurrana extended support to the Indian team and cheered the athletes headed to the Special Olympics.

Bollywood Actor, Ayushmann Khurrana, has been roped in as an ambassador to encourage and support the Indian team competing in the next Special Olympics for people with intellectual impairments, which will be held in Berlin from June 16 to June 25.

Reacting to the rare honour, the actor said, "In my life and through my work, I have been fortunate to meet many outstanding people, who, with their grit and determination, have shown the world that the potential for human beings to achieve greatness is limitless."

“I give my best wishes to all the participants of the Special Olympics Bharat team for the upcoming World Summer Games set to take place in Berlin, Germany. I am confident that all our athletes will make the nation proud. I am supporting them with utmost vigour and will be continuously cheering for them, " the star said in an Instagram post in Hindi Language.

India will send a 280-person contingent, made up of 198 athletes and partners, 57 coaches, and competitors from 16 different sports disciplines to the competition.

The prestigious international journal, TIME Magazine, has praised Ayushmann for his role as an actor who uses his films to promote social change and has named him one of the world's most important individuals. Additionally, he serves as UNICEF's national ambassador in India.
