Veeam is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) engineering team. This role is an exciting opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology stack focused on SaaS architecture, containers, and serverless infrastructure. You’ll play a critical part in developing scalable and reliable microservices using Golang, and contribute to building the next-generation data protection platform. This position is remote, but applicants must be located within the United States.

Responsibilities

Design and develop robust, scalable SaaS microservices using Golang
Integrate services with a variety of cloud-based managed tools
Write high-quality, secure, and thoroughly tested code
Participate in on-call rotations and ensure reliability in production environments
Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and team collaboration
Work closely with a global engineering team to support and maintain the VDC platform

Requirements

5+ years of experience in software development
Proven expertise in building and maintaining SaaS or large-scale cloud services on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Proficient in modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Scala, or Rust
Experience with event-driven architecture and scalable systems
Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms)
Passion for code quality, automation, and testing best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
Experience in the data protection industry is a plus
