JLF Colorado announces premiere of Gandhi inspired film Ahimsa

The film is a documentary that explores why Ahimsa is still relevant in today’s society.

The Colorado Chapter of the Jaipur Literature Festival, in association with Teamwork Arts, announced that the film  “Ahimsa– Gandhi: The Power of the Powerless,” will premiere during their fundraiser gala on Sept. 16, 2022.

According to a news release, Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, will attend the Colorado Premiere of the internationally acclaimed film to share insights on how his grandfather inspired other civil rights leaders like Nelson Mandela amd Martin Luther King. Jr.

“Gopalkrishna Gandhi will also speak on his recent book, Scorching Love: Letters from Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to His Son, Devadas, at JLF Colorado on Saturday, September 17,” the release mentioned.

Speaking about the importance of the film, filmmaker Ramesh Sharma, said, “The word ‘AHIMSA’ remains the most powerful word for conflict resolution. To Gandhi, ‘AHIMSA’ was ‘love in action.’” The film is a documentary that explores why Ahimsa is still relevant in today’s  society. It features interviews with notable researchers, Nobel Laureates, spiritual leaders and Gandhi’s  family members.

Popularly known as the “greatest literary show on Earth" , JLF is a festival that brings together some of the world’s greatest writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sports people and entertainers on one stage to champion the freedom to express and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue.
