The sixth season of Gee Vision Inc’s talent show International Indian Icon (3iii) which showcases Indian culture through song, dance, fashion and other art forms wrapped up on December 29, 2022 at Plainfield, Chicago.
82 semi-finalists from all over the world gathered for the finale with 23 semi-finalists joining online. A set of 12 finalists from India who were chosen in the first semi-final also joined online. The stage was set up grandly for the finale and the 3iii band by Suneer Mehmood enthralled the audience.
The finale concluded with the announcement of winners in three age categories -Juniors (upto 16 years), Seniors (upto 55 years) and Super Seniors (over 55 years). Winners were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges including Bollywood music composer, lyricist and singer Arko, Hollywood actor and music manager Bobby Leigh, Ms India 2013 and International celebrity anchor Simran Ahuja.
A jury consisting of Bollywood playback singer Poonal Bhatia, Bollywood entertainer from Dubai Abbas Ali Mitza For singing; Gauri Jog, Pooja Joshi, Bharathi Devarakonda for Dance; Juhi Jigiasi and Pooja Nanjia for Fashion, also helped the judges in the individual categories.
Founder of 3iii, Sharan Walia started the competition in 2017 “to not only show the beauty of Indian culture through song, dance, fashion and talent but also allow non-natives to show their love for Indian culture by performing to Indian songs and dance,” a news release noted.
With its successful seasons in the past the competition has positioned itself as a world stage for talented children and adults who can exhibit their skills in singing, dancing and related fields, without any barriers. 3iii Season7, which will commence in April 2023, is in its initial stages and details about it will be released in future, the release said.
