In an effort to provide an alternative option for Indians facing long wait times for a US visa, the American embassy in India has announced that Indian nationals seeking B1 and B2 (business and tourist) visas who aren't first-time applicants or whose visas have expired more than four years ago can submit their applications at a few specific American embassies abroad.
According to reports, many Indians who needed to travel to the US urgently have already been going to a third country to seek an appointment to apply for American visas due to the lengthy wait in the country.
