Indian Vice President congratulates the teams of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ and ‘Naatu Naatu’

Vice President Jagdish Dhankar congratulated “The Elephant Whisperers’ and the “Naatu Naatu” teams for winning the Oscars at the 95 th Academy awards ceremony, in the Rajya Sabha.

“The Oscar wins mark a new recognition of the full spectrum of cinema that India produces. It is another facet of our global rise and recognition.” Dhankar said.

“These achievements also reflect the global appreciation of vast talent, immense creativity and sheer dedication of Indian artists. These victories would further the internationalisation of India’s film industry,” he further said.

“The film reflects our deep connection with nature and the song is a symbol of India’s dynamism and infectious energy. Your success makes every Indian proud,” the vice president said.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of this august House, I congratulate the entire team of artists associated with the documentary “The Elephant Whisperers” and the movie RRR for this well-earned and deserved recognition”, the vice-president said in his congratulatory speech in the Upper House.

“ The 95 th Academy Award function in Los Angeles was a moment of glory for us. The Elephant Whisperers, Kartiki Gonsalves’ debut film won the Best Documentary Short Film Oscar and the song

“Naatu Naatu” composed by M.M. Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandra Bose from S.S. Rajamouli’s Film RRR won the Oscar best original song,” Dhankar said.
