The Indian rupee (INR) should be allowed to find its level Shaktikanta Das, governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), said on December 2, 2022, adding that it was crucial to evaluate currency movements objectively.

"In this complex world, with both push and pull factors at play, the INR which is market-determined should be allowed to find its level and that is what we have been striving to ensure," Das said, while announcing the central bank's decision to increase its benchmark lending rate by 35 basis points as part of its monetary policy.
