Indian-origin student found dead in dorm; Korean roommate taken into custody

According to the authorities, the incident took place in a room on McCutcheon Hall's first floor.

Varun Manish Chheda, an Indian-origin Data Science student at Purdue University, was found dead in his dormitory in the state of Indiana, USA.  Police announced on Wednesday that the Indianapolis resident Chheda was found dead in McCutcheon Hall on the western edge of the campus.

According to news reports, his Korean roommate was arrested. However, the motive for the murder is still unknown. According to Purdue University Police Chief Lesley Wiete, Ji Min "Jimmy" Sha, a junior cybersecurity major and international student from Korea, called 911 around 12:45 am on Wednesday to inform police about the death. The call's specifics weren't made public.
