Indian origin MP marks 38th anniversary of Bhopal gas tragedy in UK Parliament

The horrific incident is recognised as the worst industrial catastrophe to have ever occurred in the history of the world.

The 38th anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy, regarded as one of the greatest industrial disasters in history, will be observed this week, and an Indian-origin Labour Party MP has submitted a motion to the UK Parliament in time for the occasion.

‌‌On Wednesday, with the support of 40 lawmakers, Labour MP for Stockport in northern England and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for India (Trade and Investment), Navendu Mishra introduced the Early Day Motion (EDM) titled "Campaign for justice for the victims of the Bhopal gas leak."
