Shefali Razdan Duggal was appointed as the US envoy to the Netherlands under Joe Biden's administration on Friday, October 7. The oath was administered to the 50-year-old Kashmiri Pandit, Duggal, by US Vice-President Kamala Harris, in the presence of the former's mother and other family members.
A video of the event has gone viral on social media. Duggal and her mother can be seen crying in the photo as the former takes the oath. The two immediately embrace Vice President Harris as loud applause is heard.
