Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, India's top-ranked doubles team, won their first championship of the 2023 season at the Swiss Open in Basel. On March 26, the duo defeated Chinese players Ren Xiang Yu and Tang Qiang in the men's doubles final.
After a 54-minute duel, the Indian stars and No. 2 seeds, emerged victorious in straight games over the Chinese players, despite them putting up a great defensive performance.

Mathias Boe, coached the doubles team for India, and was ensuring the two young shutters maintained their composure in tense situations. The game changed when Satwik and Chirag converted their fourth match point, preventing Ren and Tang from winning a third game.
After an early exit at the All England Open earlier in March, the recent win marks their first on the tour since winning the French Open Super 750 in October 2022. They will next be seen competiting at the Spain Masters BWF Super 300, which will take place in Madrid the next week.
