Democratic candidates Shri Thanedar and Pramila Jayapal were elected to the House of Representatives on Nov. 9, 2022, while three other Indian-Americans were leading in their respective districts.
Thanedar, a 67-year-old entrepreneur and self-made millionaire originally from Belgaum, Karnataka, defeated a Republican challenger in Detroit, Michigan.
