The Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives has picked three Indian American law makers for critical Committee positions: Ami Bera of California for Select Committee on Intelligence: Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois as Ranking Member in the Select Committee that looks at Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party; and Pramila Jayapal of the State of Washington as Ranking Member in the Sub-committee on Immigration.

Bera’s influential House Permanent Select Committee oversees intelligence activities of the United States including that of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the National Security Agency (NSA) and military intelligence programs. Congressman Bera also serves on the House Foreign Affairs and the Science, Space and Technology Committees.
