Indian American lawmaker Pramila Jayapal rose in strong support of the Eagle Act in the US House of Representatives. The Eagle Act or the Equal Access to Green Cards for Legal Employment proposes a 15 per cent green card limit instead of a 7 per cent per-country limit.
Sharing her experience of being an H-1B visa holder in America, the US Representative from Washington’s Congressional district said, “I believe, I may be the only one or one of very few members of Congress who has actually been on an H-1B visa.”
I'm one of the few members of Congress who has been on an H-1B visa back when processing times to transition to a green card weren’t nearly as bad—and it still took 17 years to become a citizen.

We must pass the Eagle Act for all those who have waited too long for a green card. pic.twitter.com/odmTiAe7B5
