Indian American author creates poetry book "Shakti Girls” to celebrate trailblazing Indian women

The funds raised through Kickstarter will go towards supporting production, marketing, and advertising costs of the book.

Atlanta-based children’s book writer, Shetal Shah launched a compilation of children’s poems about inspiring Indian women who embody Shakti (feminine power) on Kickstarter, a global crowdfunding platform for creative projects.

From the globally well-known Indian American producer Mindy Kaling to the lesser-known freedom fighter Kasturba Gandhi, ‘Shakti Girls’ includes poems and illustrations of women who have brought inspiration to their generation and the ones to follow.
