India-US should partner for sustainable food and agriculture systems

Nenon tells New India Abroad the importance of US-India collaboration in the agriculture sector on the sidelines of the G20 meeting on Agriculture in Indore.

India and the US should work together towards sustainable productive agriculture and food systems that promote global food security and support the income of farmers around the world, said Sharynne G Nenon, senior director for Asia Pacific, United States Department of Agriculture in an interview with New India Abroad.

Nenon believes that India has a lot of good ideas on table, and the US can play an important role in making them a reality. She highlighted the need of producers to discuss issues and challenges, and countries working together towards economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
