India to grant citizenship to minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan

They would need to submit online applications which will be verified by the collector at the district level for further action before their citizenship is approved

India will grant citizenship to the minority communities from neighbouring Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. These communities include Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians living in two districts of Gujarat in western India.

According to a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, which is tasked with maintaining internal security in India, the citizenship will be granted to them under the original Citizenship Act of 1955.
