Nancy Pelosi, the first woman Speaker of the US House of Representatives announced that she will not be running for another term, on Thursday. The 82-year old led the democrats for over two decades and came to be known as one of the most significant political figures in America.
“The hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus. Now we must move boldly into the future, grounded by the principles that have propelled us this far, and open to fresh possibilities for the future,” Pelosi said on the house floor.
