India has leaped past the United Kingdom to become the fifth-largest economy in the world. A decade ago the former British colony had been ranked in the 11thposition; its economy is currently placed behind the United States, China, Japan and Germany in terms of size.
The Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal took to twitter sharing, “India is the world's fifth biggest economy now!"
