India and GCC nations FTA discussions to start next month

GCC is a union of six countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

India and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries are expected to start negotiations for a free trade agreement next month, with an aim to boost economic ties between them.

An official said that the terms of reference for the agreement are being finalized, and will most likely be launched next month. In May this year, India implemented a free trade pact with UAE.
