India and EU sign agreement on climate and tech-related sectors

The deal builds on promises made by both parties to expand their technology collaboration in quantum and high-performance computing at the India-EU leaders' meeting on May 8 of this year.

India and the European Union (EU) signed an agreement on Monday to build a partnership in sectors pertaining to climate modelling and quantum technologies.

In a virtual ceremony, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content, and Technology (DG CONNECT) and India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) signed the ‘Intent of Cooperation on High-Performance Computing (HPC), Weather Extremes and Climate Modelling, and Quantum Technologies’.
