India and Australia plan to boost naval ties

India and Australia have collaborated extensively in multilateral fora like the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, Indian Ocean Rim Association, and Western Pacific Naval Symposium as they tend to have similar opinions on a number of current Indo-Pacific maritime security concerns.

Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar's three-day trip to Australia came to a conclusion on October 3. According to Kumar and Australian military officers, increased collaboration and focused efforts are required to meet the difficulties of the maritime environment.

The Chief’s visit to Australia came after the Australia-hosted exercise, which was participated by warship INS Satpura and Patrol Aircraft P8-I.
