India stands third globally in scientific publications

It may be interesting to note that as per the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2022 brought out by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), India’s GII ranking also improved significantly from 81st in 2014 to 40th position in 2022.

India's position in scientific publications has gone up to the third position from seventh worldwide, according to a Science and Engineering Indicators 2022 report released by the United States' National Science Foundation (NSF) .

Indian Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that India's position in the world's scientific publications has increased from 7th place in 2010 to 3rd position in 2020. The academic publications in the country rose from 60,555 papers in 2010 to 1,49,213 papers in 2020.
