IIT Madras, NASA collaborate to study microbes in Space

In an effort to make space travel safer, researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) have come together to study the microbial interaction in the International Space Station (ISS).

According to the institute, “studying the microbes inhabiting the space station becomes important to understand the risks associated with short-term and long-term space travel on the health of astronauts.”
