Harmeet Dhillon, an Indian-American attorney who is contesting to chair the Republican National Committee (RNC), has alleged that she is facing attacks from her fellow party leaders because of her Sikh faith. She asserted that she would continue to race for the top position. The 54-year-old former California Republican Party Co-Chair is contesting against Ronna McDaniel for the position. The election will be held on Jan. 27, 2023.
“To be very clear, no amount of threats to me or my team, or bigoted attacks on my faith traceable directly to associates of the chair, will deter me from advancing positive change at the RNC, which includes new standards of accountability, transparency, integrity, and decency,” Dhillon wrote in a series of tweets.
