HAF sues California Civil Rights Department for misrepresenting Hinduism

HAF pointed out that the department wrongly believes “that a caste system and caste-based discrimination are integral parts of Hindu teaching and practice”.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) sued the California Civil Rights Department in United States District Court for misrepresenting Hinduism and violating the civil rights of Hindu Americans residing in the state.

In its case HAF claimed that the California State alleged that caste discrimination occuring at Cisco Systems' Silicon Valley offices, was based on the Hindu faith’s caste hierarchy system.
