The Government of India has not pushed the panic button but clearly efforts are under way to step up vigil at airports besides taking measures on the ground against a backdrop of a surge in COVID cases in some countries, notably China.

“Covid is not over yet. I have directed all concerned to be alert and strengthen surveillance. A second meeting is scheduled for next week it is said.
