Glasgow Life Museums has become the first UK museum to repatriate seven historic artifacts including a 14thcentury sword to India as part of an agreement that was signed in August 2022.

Of these seven artifacts except the ceremonial 14th century Indo-Persian tulwar (sword), six were stolen from Indian temples and shrines including a 11th century carved stone door jamb taken from a temple in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The sword, however, was bought after it was stolen from its original owner.
