Friends of MP NYNJ celebrate Holi

"Holi @ Home: Padharo Mhaara Ghar" is a series of 4 events being celebrated in member houses of the community, to mark the beginning of Spring.

"Holi @ Home: Padharo Mhaara Ghar," a special festival to mark the beginning of spring, was celebrated by Friends of MP NYNJ, an informal gathering of residents of the NY Tristate area, who have their roots in Madhya Pradesh (MP).

The Holi @ Home event was a gathering of about 20 families from the Friends of MP NYNJ community. Festivities included games, introductions, Holi Tilak, traditional food, and Holi songs and dances.

Four families volunteered to serve as hosts this year. The first occasion was celebrated on March 19 at Lalit Khandelwal's house, a member of the community. The next occasion was held on April 2 at Anand Rai's house in New Jersey.

On April 16 and 29, two additional families in Edison will host "Holi - Padharo Mhaara Ghar." Amit Mishra and Shaman Jain of the Friends of MP Team are in charge of organizing the Holi activities.

Any family in the Friends of MP NYNJ who would like to join is welcome to do so on a completely voluntary basis. Families attenfing for the first time were moved by the  "Apnapan" and "MP ki Dosti" at the event, a news release noted.
