Fortis Healthcare, the leading Indian hospital chain, has been recognised by Advantage Health Care India for its contribution to positioning the country as the top destination for medical tourists. Fortis won awards in seven of the twelve categories during a recent event.
The Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram won four awards in the categories of bone marrow transplant, medical oncology, surgical oncology, and neurosciences; the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Okhla won two in the categories of interventional cardiology and paediatric cardiac sciences (cardiology and cardiac surgery); and the Fortis Hospital in Noida won one in the category of liver transplant.

Important officials and dignitaries from the health ministries of over 15 nations attended the event. The event's theme, "One Earth, One Health," reflected the Government of India's goal of showcasing and promoting the speciality medical services and knowledge of Indian healthcare experts. Additionally, Fortis welcomed over 100 delegates to its flagship hospital, the Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, where they were exposed to the facility's technology and infrastructure.
The nominees for the award were determined by a three-level screening process, a news release noted. The audit committee visited the facilities in the last round. The award procedure was conducted by Ernst & Young and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
