Our Race Equality Event is well under way with speakers such as @ArunSKang & Basketball England CEO Stewart Kellett already on stage. We have looked at the great progress made in the Race Representation Index. Still to come is @tphollingsworth CEO of @Sport_England and many more! pic.twitter.com/WMrt1BWgGl

The exhibition aims to celebrate the modern history of South Asian female players in English football in the hopes that it would encourage more girls and women to participate in the national game, a news release noted.
Kira Rai (Derby County), Millie Chandarana (Blackburn Rovers), Mariam Mahmood (West Bromwich Albion), and Simran Jhamat are the four athletes profiled (Coventry United) in the exhibition.
The timeline, which is a first of its kind, highlights more than 30 significant events in the development of women's soccer as well as the advancements made by South Asian-born female football players in England.
Commenting on the initiative, Arun Kang OBE, chief executive officer of Sporting Equals said, “This exhibition serves as inspiration, showing that women of South Asian heritage have a place in the game and can achieve anything. There has been great progress in women's football, but this community is neglected and we are proud to partner with Sky Sports to grow the national game.”
