San Francisco Unicorns will host its annual Family Day event in Santa Clara next month, bringing together Bay Area cricket fans, young players, and members of the local South Asian community ahead of the 2026 Major League Cricket season.

The free event, presented by Toyota, will take place on June 21 at Adrian Wilcox High School in Santa Clara and marks the fourth edition of the franchise’s community-focused cricket celebration.

Organizers said the event is intended to strengthen ties between the team and the Bay Area’s growing cricket community while creating opportunities for children and aspiring cricketers to interact directly with professional players and coaches.

Fans attending Family Day will have the opportunity to meet the full Unicorns roster, including Indian cricket star Ravichandran Ashwin, team captain Matt Short, and head coach Cameron White.

Former Unicorn Liam Plunkett and the team’s mascot “Sparky” will also participate in the event.

Throughout the afternoon, Unicorns players and staff will conduct cricket clinics for children between the ages of 6 and 14, offering coaching and skills training in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports in the United States.

David White, CEO of San Francisco Unicorns, said, "Family Day has become a must-attend event on the calendars of all cricket fans in the Bay Area and we’re really looking forward to the 2026 edition."

Dave Johnston, Northern California TDA president, added, “It’s a privilege to continue our collaboration with the Unicorns for Family Day. As an event, it showcases the diverse communities and passionate sporting base of the Bay Area and Northern California, and we look forward to putting on a show that ensures everyone in attendance has a great day out.”

The event will also include food, sponsor activations, merchandise stalls, and family-friendly entertainment supported by partners including BART and Royal Rice.

The Family Day celebration comes just days before the Unicorns begin their Oakland Coliseum leg of the 2026 MLC season on June 24 against Texas Super Kings.
