Shekar Krishnan re-elected to New York City Council

Indian American Shekar Krishnan has been re-elected to the New York City Council, representing District 25, which includes Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and Woodside in Queens. Krishnan, a Democrat, secured 21,082 votes and defeated Republican candidate Ramses S. Frias by a margin of nearly 50 percent. He will continue representing three of the most diverse immigrant communities in the world.
